New look ‘pumped up’ Isuzu MU-X

Back in May Isuzu introduced us to the new-look 17MY MU-X wagon, and it looks like an absolute pearler of a touring wagon. The new beast strikes a fine balance with its tough stance hinting at its offroad capability, while its modern styling belies a roomy seven-seat interior.
The MU-X has been given a full facelift, with an updated grille and new headlights differentiating it from previous incarnations. The LED headlights are a substantial upgrade on previous models and will be appreciated by nighttime drivers, as will the fog lights that come standard with LS-U and LS-T wagons. All variants come standard with a fresh set of alloy rims shod with all terrain rubber.
The MU-X’s interior has had a full rethink. LS-U and LS-T variants are gifted an eight-inch touchscreen audiovisual setup with inbuilt SatNav and reversing camera, while the LS-M variant is fitted with a seven-inch unit.
The updates continue under the bonnet, with the arrival of a Euro 5 compliant 3L 4JJ1-TC turbo diesel power plant. This truly modern engine was designed specifically for the Australian market and offers an impressive 430nM torque – a significant increase over previous models.
